About

Welcome to Meole Brace Garden & Allotment Club. With 139 allotment plots across three sites in Shrewsbury, we are one of the largest and longest-standing allotment clubs in Shropshire.

Our Sites

Stanley Lane is our largest site, with 96 plots in a mixture of full and half-plot sizes.

Our Vicarage Road allotment site has 27 full and half-sized allotment plots.

Washford Road is our smallest site, with 16 plots made up of various sizes.

Membership

We offer two types of membership – Garden Club Membership and Allotment Club Membership. Garden Club Membership allows members to take part in social events, while Allotment Club Members have an allocated plot.

Due to exceptional levels of interest since the first lockdown, we now have 53 people on our Allotment Club waiting list and are therefore not currently accepting new applications. Please check back from time to time for updates.

Garden Club Membership

Garden Club membership is ideal for those who would like to enjoy being part of an active Club, without needing to manage a plot.

Our Garden Club members benefit from all the discounts below, and can also take part in all our social events, attend our Annual General Meeting and become a member of our Committee.

Allotment Club Membership

Our Allotment Members each have a designated plot at one of our sites. They also receive all the benefits listed in Garden Membership.

Allotment holders may come and go as they please. Gates are locked nightly and we have various security measures in place, including Smartwater. No fires or overnight stays are permitted at any of our sites.

Member Benefits

Meole Brace Garden & Allotment Club members can benefit from a range of discounts through our partners, including:

As we are also affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society, our members can also enjoy access to RHS Open Gardens. We are also affiliated to the National Vegetable Society, who provide medals for our annual Allotment Show.

Committee

Committee members meet regularly, either in person or online, to manage our sites, raise any important issues and uphold our Club’s constitution and rules. You can download a copy of our Constitution and Rules here.

If you are interested in becoming a Committee Member, or joining the Committee to fill a particular role, we’d love to hear from you – get in touch to find out more.
